The rise of the real-life avatars
The University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Central Florida are apparently taking National Science Foundation money to try and build virtual reality citizens that will act, talk and react like real people "in a way that is so real you would swear the images were alive."   Read Story | Read Comments

iPods, ears and stethoscopes
When talking with people about Web 2.0 for a story upcoming in GHIT, a lot of the conversations spent at least some time on the issue of podcasts, iPods and MP3 players. These are not Web 2.0 technologies as such, though they get lumped in with others because they are a part of the distribution medium for a lot of Web 2.0 content.   Read Story | Read Comments
