National eHealth Collaborative has announced the members of its newly appointed NeHC University Advisory Council, a body of nationally known experts and advocates in health IT, who will help shape and lead NeHC’s expanded education program.

NeHC recently unveiled NeHC University, an updated and expanded version of the popular NHIN University program that launched in February 2010. NeHC University is intended to provide stakeholders with a broad view of the HIT landscape through introductory programs and expert-led deep dives into hot topics and initiatives related to HIT and health information exchange.

“The goal of the new NeHC University is to provide a robust view of the current and rapidly evolving HIT ecosystem by bringing high quality leaders and experts to discuss issues of utmost relevance and interact with interested stakeholders,” said NeHC CEO Kate Berry. “We are thrilled to have the expertise of our Advisory Council – representing nearly all segments of healthcare – to help make NeHC University as successful and as beneficial as possible.”

The NeHC University Advisory Council has been convened to help develop curricula and programs for NeHC University, and recruit and serve as class faculty.

The council is composed of 18 health IT leaders from across the United States, representing a wide range of stakeholder perspectives – including patients, physicians and clinicians, hospitals, payers, legal experts, academics, the ONC, health information exchange organizations and others:
